New Super Mario Bros. U + Trailer

New Super Mario Bros. U
New Super Mario Bros. U E3 is finally here and I just watched Nintendo's live press conference online. So I'm going to talk about some of the games they showed off, and the first game I'm going to cover is the new Super Mario Brothers sidescroller, New Super Mario Bros. U.

New Super Mario Bros. UNew Super Mario Bros. U is one of the two Super Mario games they showed off today, both with the handle of New Super Mario Bros. which is a little surprising they have two very similar games in development at the same time. Pretty much everyone was expecting to see a new 3D Mario title and not two sidescrollers, however all hope is not lost just yet.

New Super Mario Bros. UFor Today's press conference, Nintendo focus mostly on the Wii U games and only revealed a few 3DS titles. Nintendo plans to show off the 3DS games tomorrow probably due to the amount of game titles they had to announce and couldn't fit in to a single hour (their allotted time they had for their conference).

New Super Mario Bros. UBack to the topic, one of the first things I noticed in the trailer for New Super Mario Bros. U was what looked like the return of the Raccoon suit from Super Mario Bros. 3, but a moment later we saw Mario gliding and what I thought was the Raccoon suit was actually a Flying Squirrel suit. I actually think this is a pretty fun idea as that it can give some nostalgia at first it has new appeal for gamers.

New Super Mario Bros. U
New Super Mario Bros. ULike New Super Mario Bros. U predecessor on the Wii (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) you can have four player simultaneous co-op. Although due to my solitary nature I'll probably not use it.

New Super Mario Bros. U does have some things I saw in the trailer that does improve itself over it's predecessor on the Wii. One very noticeable aspect was that the Baby Yoshi's have special abilities, such as the blue baby Yoshi's being able to blow bubbles and pink ones bloating up into blimps, this is sure to be a thrilling adventure.

New Super Mario Bros. U also allows use of the Wii U Gamepad controller for a slightly different way to play, by manipulating enemies and object in real time allowing for new ways to get through the levels. It can also be used as a fifth play where the fifth player with the Wii U Gamepad can give blocks to help the others out in the game.

Perhaps the best new feature has to do with the Wiiverse were you can chat with other players. New Super Mario Bros. U is the first in the series to use this, and Nintendo has said that it will be used to bring people together. You'll be able to chat and share your achievements and speed runs. This Wiiverse will be good for those of us who have problems socializing.

I'm really liking this New Super Mario Bros. series and I'm definitely going to be getting New Super Mario Bros. U when it's released.
